Children practicing yoga at AumYogaShala Foundation

Our Mission & Vision

Mission

To transform the lives of underprivileged children from local neighbourhoods through holistic development, combining yoga practice, nutritious meals, quality education, and engaging activities in a safe and nurturing environment.

Vision

We envision a world where every child, regardless of their socioeconomic background, has access to holistic education that nurtures their mind, body, and spirit, enabling them to reach their full potential and become positive contributors to society.

Our Story

AumYogaShala Foundation was born from a simple observation: children in the local neighbourhoods lacked access to proper nutrition, education, and safe spaces to play and grow. In 2015, our founder, Ananya Sharma, a yoga instructor with a background in child development, began offering free yoga classes to a small group of children.

What started as weekly yoga sessions quickly evolved as Ananya recognized the broader needs of these children. She began providing simple meals after each class, noticing how hunger affected their ability to focus and participate. Soon, other volunteers joined, offering to teach basic English and mathematics.

By 2017, the initiative had grown into a formal foundation with a dedicated center, serving over 100 children daily with structured programs in yoga, education, and nutrition. Today, AumYogaShala Foundation reaches 500 children across multiple locations, providing a holistic approach to development that addresses their physical, mental, and emotional needs.

Our journey continues as we expand our programs and reach more communities, always guided by our core belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.
